08:02 EDT, 16 February 2021 A police officer stabbed multiple times in a busy shopping centre is 'very, very lucky' to be alive after being attacked by a man 'known to him', police have said. Senior Constable Tim Liesegang, 50, is reportedly in a stable condition after being slashed in Cairns, Far North Queensland, on Tuesday afternoon. A 22-year-old man was taken into custody after the alleged attack and has also been taken to Cairns Hospital for treatment.
