Following a meeting of the Constitution Amendment drafting committee held on Monday evening at the Prime Minister's office, the 21st Amendment to the Constitution was presented to Sri Lanka's cabinet.
Says 16 members nominated Raja Riaz, whereas only six members supported GDA's Ghous Bux Mahar for the office.
One can only speculate about the political implications of the reforms, which would greatly enlarge the electorate for the next general election.
