Crosstalk. but what i was going to say — forgive me for talking over you, stephen — that when you read my poems, i need an angle on things — you've gotta get an angle on things — and in order to do that, what i do is very often, don't look for me in these poems all the time because most of the time — 80% of the time, they're works of imagination. i've heard a conversation somewhere, i'm inhabiting the mind that i imagine belongs to somebody else who's nothing like me. i can think of a million examples of that in my work, you know, where i'm adopt... if you're a poet, you're an adopte...
