Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, April 14, 2021 at First United Methodist Church in Marshalltown. Visitation will be 9:30 a.m., until the time of the services at the church. Interment will be at Riverside Cemetery with military honors provided by the Marshalltown Combined VFW and American Legion Honor Guard. The much-loved Annual Love INC Cookie Walk takes a new twist on Saturday, February 13, becoming a Drive-Thru event. Hundreds of dozens of handmade gourmet cookies will be ready, just in time for Valentine’s Day! Cookies will be carefully pre-packaged, following current health and safety protocols, into one and a quarter pound boxes offered for a donation of $10 each. BATAVIA — Batavia First Methodist Church switched from a Cookie Walk to a Cookie Cruise as a fundraiser this year due to COVID-19 and the effort seemed to pay off Saturday, a church employee said. First Methodist Children and Youth Ministry Coordinator Sandy Trimmer and her daughter, Emily, were bringing cookie orders to people who drove up to the church. The cost for a 1-pound box of cookies was $10. The church asked the congregation to bake cookies, Sandy Trimmer said.
