LOWELL — Sun Santa season continues this week with one of its most popular events as raffle tickets become available Friday for the 20th annual Tufts Medicine/Lowell General Hospital Themed Basket Raffle fundraiser.
The weather is getting colder and eggnog is starting to fly off grocery store shelves, which means it is time again for the return of The Sun Santa Fund. Lowell Sun Charities was established in 1947 with the goal of supporting charitable causes in the Greater Lowell area. 41 years later in 1988, the charity found that many local families were finding difficulty in affording Christmas presents for their children or putting a proper holiday meal on the kitchen table.
