Following reports of the new coronavirus mutation in Slovakia, a local company has presented a dedicated PCR test to help combat the spread of the new strain that first appeared in Britain in late 2020.
The test’s developer, MultiplexDX International, reported that trials ended last week, with the third iteration of the new test bringing satisfactory results - 100 percent sensitivity rates to the new strain.

Situation remains serious
If the measures had been lifted in late December to the same extent as in the early summer of 2020, the GDP would have risen by 3.5 percent in the first quarter of 2021 compared with the final quarter of 2020. If the measures were lifted only in late February, the GDP would remain the same.

“The situation in Nitra remains critical,” Mayor Marek Hattas said after meeting with the district crisis staff, as quoted by the SITA newswire. “The number of infected people is rising, and we’ve become the worst district in Slovakia in the past seven days.”
