The U.S. Coast Guard suspended its search Monday night for a missing 18-year-old man after scouring 787 square nautical miles for nearly 24 hours.
The man was last seen entering the water in the Packery Channel on Padre Island.
Those involved in the search were the U.S. Coast Guard Sector/Air Station Corpus Christi, Coast Guard Station Port Aransas, Coast Guard Cutter Harold Miller, Coast Guard Cutter Pelican, Corpus Christi Beach Rescue and Corpus Christi s fire and police departments.
Fire Chief Robert Rocha said Sunday night around 8 p.m., dispatchers received a call about a drowning near beach marker 203 and Zahn Road. ....
