Local Lib Dem leader claims 'people are fed up' with Labour councillors

Penistone West Coun Hannah Kitching told the Chronicle she understood the seven councillors now seated on the local authority is the largest representation the party has ever had in the Labour-dominated borough. Julie Foster’s 20-month-old Shih Tsu Buddy Jay was attacked by the dog, which was let off its lead, when her partner John Mann had taken him for a walk at around 5.15am on Saturday morning on Three Nooks Lane, Cudworth. John tried to get in the way - while the aggressive dog’s owner reportedly stood by and watched, calling him a ‘grass’ for attempting to phone the police. He took Buddy to the vet, but the dog had already died when they arrived.

Council's planning board vote probed | Barnsley Chronicle

× A PROBE into Barnsley Council’s decision to award planning permission for a new roundabout a stone’s throw away from residents’ homes found no maladministration had occurred during a livestreamed meeting - despite claims an online vote was ‘miscounted’. The scheme, on Higham Common Road, had ten votes for and ten against, leaving planning board chairman Coun Ken Richardson - who gave his support - with the final say last month. However, confusion arose immediately after the deciding vote was cast as residents claimed a miscount had occurred with nine for and ten against, with four other councillors not responding when their names were called during the vote.
