To embed, copy and paste the code into your website or blog: HUD recently finalized a modification to the deadline for participating agencies and counselors to complete the HUD Housing Counseling Program’s certification requirements.  HUD extended the deadline because “due to the COVID-19 national emergency, a large number of housing counselors would have been unable to get certified by the end of the grace period,” which was set to end August 1, 2020.  The new deadline is August 1, 2021.  HUD published the interim final rule in August, and is now finalizing the rule without change.
