The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Thursday conducted searches at 10 locations in the national capital in connection with the Elathur train arson attack case that took place on April 2 this year.
Move comes after NIA begun investigating inter-state links as well as role of handlers in the train arson attack which killed 3 passengers including a child.
As per inputs, the case was handed over to the NIA by the Counter Terrorism and Counter Radicalization (CTCR) division of the Ministry of Home Affairs a few days back.
NIA took over the case to investigate the matter nearly a month after the national flag at the Indian high commission in London was pulled down during a protest by pro-Khalistan activists.
NIA invoked the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act in its investigation because it had doubts that the accused was sent to the state by his handlers and received adequate local assistance.
