An Erie Township Police officer pulled over a wrong-way driver Saturday in the southbound lanes of I-75; and was praised for his quick thinking during the emergency. Monroe County Central Dispatch got the call around 12:20 p.m., with a report that a white vehicle was driving northbound in the southbound lanes near the Ohio-Michigan state line, according to the news release. Three children died Saturday after they were pulled from a burning home in southern Miami County. Miracle Gingerich, 6, Steven Gingerich, 5, and Wilma Gingerich, 1, were pulled from the home by firefighters and taken to area hospitals where they later died, a news release from the Indiana State Police said.
