Limerick Lifelong Learning Festival launches today

Following the success of last year’s first fully virtual festival, Limerick’s Lifelong Learning Festival returns this month with an even greater choice of events.
The festival was officially launched this morning by Mayor of Limerick City and County Cllr Michael Collins at City Hall Courtyard with speeches also from Chair of the Festival Eimear Brophy and Ambassador Chinazo John Nnaya.
This year’s festival, which runs from 24 - 30 May, marks the 11th year of the popular festival.
Theme this year is “New Futures, New Adventures in Learning”, and over 100 free online learning activities will be available to people during the course of the week. ....

Contactless water filling stations unveiled in Limerick

A number of contactless water bottle filling stations have been installed in Limerick.
The new amenities provide contactless, clean and safe water without the risk of touching high-use buttons that could increase the spread of infection.
They are located at Merchant s Quay, Limerick city – beside the gate into St Mary s Cathedral, Adare library, Civic Buildings and Courthouse complex in Killmallock, The Square in Abbeyfeale and Athea Village.
The first four contactless drinking water fountains have been rolled out with support from Healthy Ireland Fund and Limerick European Green Leaf City 2020, while the the fifth was installed on behalf of Athea Tidy Towns with funding from the Limerick Local Community Development Committee’s Community Enhancement Programme. ....
