Boulder County owns or holds conservation easements on over 115,000 acres of land. These holdings are made possible by seven county sales tax and sale tax extensions that have been approved by the voters since 1993. We have paid well over $60 million since the 0.4% FasTracks tax was implemented almost 20 years ago. It's time to accept the reality that rail will never extend to Longmont. Those who are still demanding a train are desperately clinging to the false promises of the past. Ridership numbers will never justify the immense cost of bringing rail to Longmont.

The county is not proposing any new taxes but instead asking voters to extend existing ones.

Boulder County is now accepting applications for 53 open volunteer positions on 16 of the county's advisory boards and commissions.
