Maui County Mayor Richard Bissen announced today that Mahina Martin, his Chief of Communications and Public Affairs, will take on a new role as Director of Public Affairs. He also appointed his legislative liaison and executive assistant, Laksmi Abraham, as Director of Communications and Government Affairs.
Nearly six months after brush fires tore through Maui, the local police department identified the 100th victim of the disaster as 70-year-old Lydia Coloma. Investigators said they have now identified all known victims, but there are still at least three missing people whose disappearances remain unsolved.
The Hawai‘i Youth Symphony’s top orchestra, with special guest Amy Hānaialiʻi, will perform a President’s Day concert on Feb. 19 at the Maui Arts & Cultural Center.
