'Hard to Recycle' collection event set for Mills River Park in March From staff reports Henderson County Solid Waste is partnering with local nonprofit Asheville GreenWorks to bring a "Hard to Recycle" event to Mills River from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, March 13.  Residents may drop off packaging and food grade Styrofoam (no packing peanuts), books, shredded paper, electronics, batteries, laptops, empty personal care and beauty items, empty squeezable food pouches, Brita filters and bikes.  TVs and CRT monitors are $10 each and wooden console televisions are not accepted. Submitted Due to COVID-19 distance learning, Christmas Promise volunteers weren't able to personally see the kids get their bikes this year. Pictured are Pulaski Elementary first grade student Sophia Phillips and fifth grade student Zoey Phillips as they pick up their bikes. It looked a little different this year but 18 Pulaski Elementary students still benefitted from the annual "Christmas Promise" from Waste Connections.
