Three involved in Woonsocket drug trafficking scheme could face up to 40 years in prison

May 5, 2021 4:42 pm
PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE)-Three suspects could face anywhere from 5-40 years in prison after pleading guilty on Wednesday to being a part of a drug trafficking scheme to distribute large amounts of crack cocaine and fentanyl in Woonsocket.
Angel Aviles, 20, of Cranston, as well as Juan Batista, 35, and Natalie Cassidy, 27, both of Woonsocket, were a part of a large group that was charged during an investigation by the FBI Rhode Island Safe Streets Gang Task Force. The investigation began back in January of 2020.
Aviles was the seller in the operation, according to court evidence. He would get his supply from Batista, and Cassidy would deliver the drugs to the buyers.
