Photo for representative purpose only NEW DELHI: Turnout for Covid vaccination slightly improved on Thursday when the government permitted frontline workers like Delhi Police personnel, civil defence personnel and sanitation workers besides healthcare workers to get the shots. The overall turnout was 51.8% as 9494 people out of 18300 expected across 183 vaccination centres turned out to get the jab. The turnout was only 40.2% a day before. The number of frontline workers out of 9494 individuals was not available but officials said many of them turned out. “The frontline workers were permitted from Thursday on pilot basis on some select vaccination booths. From Saturday the vaccination of the frontline workers will start on full-scale,” said an official.
