The Covingham Drive junction Covingham Drive remains shut between Piccadilly roundabout on Dorcan Way and the mini-roundabout giving access to the shops at Covingham Square. Work is being done to widen the roundabout to increase capacity before 8,000 houses are built as part of the New Eastern Villages expansion programme. The road closure will be in place until next Saturday and will allow Swindon Borough Council’s contractor to carry out essential work during lockdown restrictions before the schools reopen on Monday, March 8.
