Thiruvananthapuram: The CPM will try introducing youngsters and new faces in the assembly election as they did in the local body election. Those who won two times in a row will not be fielded. The condition of barring two-time winners will be implemented according to the general nature of the constituency and the responsibility of the leaders.
Minister M M Mani is unlikely to contest the election due to health issues, as stated by his close aides. The candidature of A K Balan and E P Jayarajan will be decided if they are not switching to party responsibilities. After the election, the CPM will be busy with the party conference. Kerala Professor Accuses CPM MLA of Intimidation During Local Body Polls

K.M. Sreekumar, a professor at the Kerala Agriculture University (KAU), has alleged in a Facebook post that he was intimidated by CPM MLA from Uduma in Kasargod district, K. Kunhiraman, while he was performing his duty as a presiding officer at a booth during the recent local body polls.
Interestingly, Sreekumar is the Peelikode unit president of the pro-CPM union of agriculture university teachers, TOKAI.
He said that he was posted as the presiding officer at a primary school in Alakkode gram panchayat in Kasargod district when the incident took place. ....

CPM ousts 36 members in Alappuzha after rebel candidate's victory in local body election

Arookutty: CPM has taken disciplinary action against its members in Alappuzha. 36 party members including local committee member and 3 branch secretaries were expelled from the party after the LDF candidate faced an embarrassing defeat at ward 3 of Arookutty panchayat in the local body election.
The local committee had fielded a new candidate after dropping KA Mathew who was suggested by the party factions. Following this, Mathew contested the fray as rebel candidate and won by 128 votes. Also, the district panchayat was seized by UDF.
This has led to the enmasse ousting.
Most of the members who faced disciplinary action were members of AKG branch. The circular served to them stated that their action of not working for the party candidate was cheating on one’s own. ....
