On April 17, 2021, a special cell of the
Railway Protection Force (
RPF) of
Western Railway’s Mumbai Central division raided travel agents in Bhayander and seized 42 unused reservation tickets with a combined value of Rs 1.1 lakh. Travel agent Mukesh Ghachi, 21, was arrested from the spot. According to the police, a preliminary inquiry suggested that Ghachi was engaged in the illegal business of booking e-tickets through advanced software.
It’s just one case. In the last two months, Mumbai divisions of Western and Central divisions, CR – seized over 2,200 confirmed ....
