ISRO's Ambitious Mission on Track to Send Humans into Space

The Indian Navy successfully recovered the Crew Module from the ISRO's test vehicle after it lifted off for the Gaganyaan mission. The module was prescribed to be recovered using a dedicated vessel and diving team from the Indian Navy. The test flight, called TV-D1, was conducted by ISRO to demonstrate the crew escape system for the Gaganyaan program. The mission objectives included evaluating various subsystems and demonstrating the deceleration system at higher altitudes. This mission is a significant step towards India's goal of launching a manned spaceflight mission.

Indian Space Research Organisation chairman S Somnath on Saturday said that the crew module, separated from the Gaganyaan mission's test vehicle, has been successfully recovered from the Bay of Bengal.

ISRO successfully conducted the first test flight of the 'TV-D1 (Test Vehicle Development Flight 1) in the Gaganyaan Mission from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre (SDSC) in Andhra Pradesh's Sriharikota after it was aborted at 8:45 am today due to a problem in the engine ignition.
