Each year, Jeffco Open Space issues seasonal wildlife closures to protect species at sensitive times in their life cycles.
JEFFERSON COUNTY, CO — Some trails and regions in Jefferson County have closed to protect wildlife.
Each year, Jeffco Open Space closes many trails and parks to ensure species are safe during important stages in their life cycles.
People who ignore signs and hike in areas that have closed can receive a fine of between $75 and $200, depending on how much destruction they cause.
Here are the trails that are set to close March 1:
