The winner of the coveted Cork person of the Year award for 2020 will be unveiled this coming Saturday morning - with a number of monthly winners from the north and mid-Cork areas in the running for the prestigious accolade.
Traditionally, the winner is announced at a glittering bash in front of more than 200 invited guests at the Rochestown Park Hotel in mid-January, one of the highlights of Cork s social calendar.
However, for the first time in the awards 28-year history, the ceremony has had to be cancelled due to the Covid pandemic, much to the disappointment of awards founder and organiser Mallow native Manus O Callaghan. ....
