Rs 2000 Note: To bid goodbye to Rs 2000 note may not be that difficult but here is a look at the RBI's 'clean note policy' behind the withdrawl

India's central bank, as part of its 'Clean Note Policy', declared that ₹2,000 currency notes will no longer be in circulation in the world’s fifth largest economy. The Reserve Bank of India has declared September 30, 2023, as the deadline to exchange the to-be-scrapped notes. The notes, however, will continue to be legal tender. 

The High Court dismissed a petition by a man challenging RBI's decision to dismiss him from service on allegation that there was shortage of ₹5,000 while he was tasked with shredding currency notes.
