After a visitor within their vehicle encountered a bear that has become habituated to humans and vehicles, Great Smoky Mountains National Park officials announced that Rich Mountain Road in the Cades Cove area will be closed to all traffic starting Saturday, August 5, until further notice.
The Little River Trail in Great Smoky Mountains National Park will be closed for repairs from July 31 through Sept. 7.

Heads UP: Great Smoky Mountains National Park (GRSM) is closing Laurel Falls Trail next week for tree removal and bridge repair.
