Police in Bhubaneswar raided several books stores and seized pirated and fake textbooks resembling NCERT publications. The cost of the seized books is around Rs 10 lakh. Four persons detained for supplying fake NCERT school books. NCERT recently tipped-off the police on the sale of pirated and bogus textbooks. NCERT textbooks attributes Manipur sport as that of Mizoram, BJP MLA demands correction. NCERT books for classes 1 & 2 in UP govt schools implemented. New Curriculum Framework to guide textbook development for all classes by 2026.

New Curriculum, Books for Classes 3 And 6 From 2024-25, No Change For Other Grades: CBSE
NCERT will release a new syllabus and textbooks for Classes 3 and 6 while there will be no change in the curriculum and textbooks for other grades for the academic year 2024-25 commencing from April 1.

OBE has students referring to notes, textbooks and other study materials during an exam. The assessment focuses on a student's understanding of the subject and his or her ability to analyse or apply concepts, rather than testing memory - the whys and hows, rather than the whats and whens. While National Education Policy 2020 does not mention OBE - National Curriculum Framework released last year does - one of the reforms it suggests is moving from rote to competency-based learning.
