The Nigerian Customs Service (NCS) has reportedly detained three of its officials for allegedly releasing seized containers. The officials were arrested at the Lagos port few days ago and detained at the Central Intelligence Unit (CIU) of the service. According to The Nation, the officials released unauthorised containers from the port. Security sources said the said containers were arrested and detained on the instruction of the Controller General of the service, Col. Hameed Ali (Retd) to stop illicit imports into the country.
