A UPS driver in Jacksonville proved to be a good Samaritan to a South Carolina family involved in a road incident this month on their way home from a Florida vacation. When a rogue tire struck their car while crossing the Dames Point bridge, the Aughtry family made it to a gas station at the next exit, met with the Florida Highway Patrol and began waiting for a tow truck. As Jacksonville eyes doubling its gas tax, residents are still waiting to see construction completed on major road work promised when City Council extended that same gas tax in 2014.
