Nigeria Has Enough Resources To Provide Free Education For All; Reject Fees' Increment – Falana Urges Citizens

Human rights lawyer, Femi Falana, SAN, has stated that Nigeria is endowed with enough resources and sufficient enough to provide free education at all levels for its citizenry. Falana made this known on Saturday at a public  programme organised by the Revolutionary Socialist Movement and the Save Public Education Campaign  in Abuja. He added that free education and other social amenities were possible if resources were democratically managed and controlled.

  A civic group under the umbrella of Workers and Youth Solidarity Network (WYSN), has called for the immediate release of the detained Nigerian singer, Seun Kuti. Seun is being detained by the police for allegedly physically assaulting a police officer in uniform as captured in a viral video. The group made the call in a statement by its Secretary, Dammy Owot, describing Seun’s detention as unjust, unnecessary, illegal and victimisation.
