Jan. 10—The number of homicides in Tacoma skyrocketed last year, and detectives solved fewer than usual. It's the first time in three years Tacoma police did not solve all homicides in the city. There were 32 homicides in 2020, including the death of Manuel Ellis while being restrained by officers.
