Walton County, Florida planning commissioners have sent two proposals for hotels along U.S. 98 to the Walton County Commission for final action.
The proposed changes are still subject to a state-level review and final action from the county commission. But if they are approved as recommended by the Planning Commission following its April 8 meeting, residential density in areas zoned for large-scale agriculture would increase from the currently allowed one unit per 40 acres to one unit per 5 acres. In general agricultural areas, the allowable density also would move to one unit per 5 acres, as opposed to the currently allowed one unit per 10 acres.
