AWARDS have finally been presented to some of Worcester’s best and brightest after the coronavirus crisis saw the original ceremony cancelled. The Mayor’s Best of Worcester Awards had been due to hold its annual ceremony in March this year, but this had to be cancelled as the country went into lockdown. Now though, Cllr Allah Ditta, then Mayor of Worcester, has been able to hand out the prizes. An awards ceremony had been held outside the Guildhall in September, but three more schools were still to be recognised, so Cllrs Ditta and Alan Amos went to visit Pitmaston, Tudor Grange and Bishop Perowne to honour eight of Worcester’s finest young musicians.
