Independent candidates could join council president, at-large races
Independent candidates have until 4 p.m. May 3 — the day before Ohio's primary election — to file petitions with the Crawford County Board of Elections for a spot on the fall ballot. The petitions then must be certified by the board. According to Ruth Leuthold, director of the elections board, this week two potential independent candidates picked up petitions. The board does not keep records of potential candidates who access petitions online.
