CONCERNED councillors are calling for an end to repeated gas works causing traffic chaos on a busy Halesowen road.

The path, which links Hawne Lane to Hayseech along the old colliery boundary, has been cleared by Dudley Council's green care team. It is around half a mile long and will form part of a nine-mile route from Norton, Stourbridge to Leasowes and on to Illey and Lapal. Leaflets advertising the route are being prepared. The land at Attwood Street was being marketed by Lex Allan Grove for £335k. The agent confirmed that a sale is in the process of going through. The buyer is a firm called DY9 Ltd. The land has planning permission for five homes. Planning approval has been granted for five houses Jamie Cotton from Lex Allan Grove said: "Hopefully the sale will be completed by the end of the month." Campaigners had launched a petition calling for Dudley Council to use its CPO powers to buy land on Attwood Street which has stood empty since six derelict terraced cottages were demolished in 2016.
