A Battle Creek woman denied any wrongdoing Monday when she was arraigned on a murder charge. "Are they saying I killed someone?" Monica Gordon asked Calhoun County District Court Magistrate David Heiss. "No, I didn't kill nobody." Gordon, 48, was arraigned on murder and felony firearm charges and being an habitual offender in the shooting death April 26 of Daniel Murray, 62, of Battle Creek. His body was found in his home at 51 N. Broad St. on May 1 after family members who live away asked Battle Creek police to check his welfare because they had been unable to contact him for several days.
