Florida-Seminole Tribe gambling deal likely faces legal challenges
The compact authorizes the Seminoles to control sports betting with servers located on reservation property. But bettors could place wagers using the internet anywhere in Florida. Also, qualified pari-mutuels including the Daytona Beach Racing & Card Club would be allowed to "perform marketing or other services" for the tribe's sports book. The deal is expected to help the state recoup $2.5 billion over the next five years, according to the governor's office.
