Although charges were dropped against former Deputy Daniel Wilkey, a letter by the sheriff's office asking for him to be de-certified as a deputy was rescinded.
According to the Hamilton County Court Clerk, the assault charge against Tauris Sledge was dismissed.
If former Hamilton County Sheriff's Deputy Daniel Wilkey did anything wrong criminally to account for a 44-count indictment filed against him in 2019, the fact that all charges in the indictment were dismissed against him in Criminal Court Friday stand as a catastrophic failure.
The case was assigned to another attorney because Hamilton County District Attorney General Coty Wamp used to work at the Hamilton County Sheriff's Office.
