Shelby names new Public Works director

What you need to know about bulky trash pickup Twice each year the city of Shelby allows residents to leave their large and bulky items on the curb for pickup along with their day-to-day trash. The first such pickup started on Monday, and will end on Thursday this week. Every year the program collects between 80 - 100 tons of large items from the curb, and 2021 is not looking to be any different.  "(Monday) was extremely busy. There was a lot out there today," said Danny Darst, director of public works. "We are still picking up some of it today, in addition to running our Tuesday routes."
