7 Girls Win Gold For India At World Youth Boxing Championships In Poland

In what can only be described as an extremely proud moment for the country, seven young India finalists created history at the 2021 AIBA Youth Men’s and Women’s World Boxing Championships by winning every bout and striking gold!
The Championships, held on Kielce, Poland saw Gitika (48kg) Naorem Babyrojisana Chanu (51kg), Poonam (57kg), Vinka (60kg), Arundhati Choudhary (69kg), T Sanamacha Chanu (75kg) and Alfiya Pathan (+81kg) register victories in their respective finale.

At the outset, it was Gitika who put India on the winning track in the women’s 48k final. She was pitted against the favourite boxer from the home team, Natalia Kuczewska. Gitika beat her 5-0.
