Man who says police used excessive force charged with punching officer
MANSFIELD - A local man who claimed police "smashed his face" into a wall when he was arrested last month has been arrested for allegedly punching a Mansfield police officer during the arrest. Darius Leflore, 48, contacted the News Journal alleging Mansfield police used excessive force after he fled on foot from an officer at a Dollar General store after police were called on a report of theft. Leflore was found hiding in a bathtub in a residence on Willow Street after fleeing from the store on March 31.
