Dining-in ban at eateries only meant for customers, say police

PETALING JAYA: The dining-in ban at restaurants and eateries is only targeted at customers, says Bukit Aman.
Sin Chew Daily quoted Bukit Aman Internal Security and Public Order Department director Datuk Seri Abdul Rahim Jaafar as saying there is no problem with employees eating inside the shop.
He clarified that under the standard operating procedures (SOP) for the movement control order outlined by the National Security Council (NSC), restaurants are not allowed to provide dine-in service for customers.
He said nevertheless, employees are allowed to eat inside the shop.
According to MyBurgerLab co-founder in a social media post Sunday (May 16), law enforcement officers arrived when his employees were eating inside the shop, and were about to issue them RM25,000 fines for violating the SOPs. ....

KUALA LUMPUR: The Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) plans to provide bulletproof equipment, including bulletproof vests, at control posts along the Malaysia-Thailand border.
Bukit Aman Internal Security and Public Order Department director Datuk Seri Abdul Rahim Jaafar said that his department had conducted a study and forwarded the idea to the relevant parties, to ensure that each control post be equipped to withstand enemy attacks and gunfire.
“(It) is not a sandbag (but equipment) with bulletproof technology for use at control posts as a buffer. Previously, this equipment was not used (at the control posts) and we were vulnerable to being shot at. ....

KUALA LUMPUR: The Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) will strengthen control at the country’s border with the use of technology, such as drones and installation of closed circuit television (CCTV) cameras along the Malaysia-Thai border area.
Bukit Aman Internal Security and Public Order director Datuk Seri Abdul Rahim Jaafar (pix, right) said the CCTVs had been installed, but in limited areas such as Padang Besar, in Perlis, as it covers a distance of only six kilometres.
He said due to the high cost of installing the CCTVs, PDRM was considering installing the facility in only certain areas or hotspots. ....
