Two extremely rare shipwrecks off the Isle of Wight have been granted the highest level of protection.
First discovered in the waters of Poole Bay in 2020, the Medieval shipwreck is known as the 'Mortar Wreck' because it was found carrying mortar bowls used for grinding grain into flour.
The three sites have Protected Wreck status, shared by 54 other sunken ships on the English coast.
The new finds come complete with artefacts and shed light on trading.
The Mortar wreck is one of three newly discovered sites to be granted special protection on the advice of Historic England
