Jan 29, 2021 Marlin Angelo, of South Williamsport, has announced his intention to seek the Republican nomination for mayor of South Williamsport in the May Primary Election. Angelo was appointed by borough council to serve out Mayor David Lechniak’s term after his death in December. Angelo is a retired 26-year police veteran and served 10 years in the U.S. Navy Reserves as a military policeman. Before becoming a police officer Angelo served as a state constable for the region. Lechniak recently passed away due to complications of COVID-19.
