The new generation always steps in when the old guard fail them. It has been happening over generations, also in SA with the Soweto Uprising of 1976 that changed the course of our history. It should be no surprise that the young generation is fighting on the frontlines against the destruction of our planet and the genocidal destruction in places like Gaza.
What does freedom mean to South Africans? For the previously disadvantaged it means political rights, participation in the rights and privileges of their country of birth and that they can lift up their heads and look the world squarely in the eyes as equals.
