Uyinene's chilling final words
Just one week before being viciously murdered in Cape Town, East London-born Uyinene Mrwetyana wrote of her fear and vulnerability as a woman to sexualisation and violence. In a university essay submitted at the University of Cape Town just a week before she was viciously attacked, raped and murdered by post office worker Luyanda Botha, Mrwetyana wrote about how her gender hindered and restricted her free movement, even in her most banal everyday activities.
