A CYCLIST broke both his arms and sustained ligament damage in his left knee after a 'hit and run' crash in Bolton. Thomas Daniel was forced to do an emergency stop when a car pulled out of Cannon Road in front of him, which caused him to go over his handlebars. The driver of the vehicle drove off and no other motorists stopped to help the 35-year-old, who had to hobble to the side of Deane Road and call his partner for help. Thomas was cycling back from work in Bolton town centre to his Westhoughton home when the incident happened at around 5.50pm.

Driving A BANNED driver has been ordered to do 200 hours of unpaid work after he was caught using a Range Rover on the M60 motorway at Salford. Bewar Suliaman, aged 32, of Deane Road, Bolton, was behind the wheel of the car which was pulling a trailer and driving clockwise on the motorway on January 8. At Manchester Magistrates’ Court Suliaman pleaded guilty to driving whilst banned, having no insurance and not affixing a proper registration plate to the trailer. A WOMAN has been taken to hospital following a crash in Bolton. The woman, who is in her 50s, was injured in the accident shortly after 8am this morning in Wigan Road, Deane. The North West Ambulance Service (NWAS) said that the woman's injuries were unclear at this stafe. Ambulance crews were called to the scene at 8.24am this morning. The A676 Deane Road was partially blocked due to the accident, which occurred near the Bike Shop. A spokesman for NWAS said: "Reporting an RTC on Wigan Road, Deane. We have taken a woman in her 50s to hospital. Injuries unclear."
