Following Hurricane Ian’s landfall, vessel owners were given a 45-day grace period to bring derelict vessels into compliance or remove them from state waters.
Boat owners now have until Dec. 31 to remove damaged vessels from Florida waters or apply for waivers that allow removal and disposal by the state.
Owners of derelict vessels who lack the resources to have their boat repaired, or if their vessel is determined to be beyond repair, may release ownership of their vessel.
