Gary, Indiana, expects to soon launch The Fiber Smart House, a new $8 million tech epicenter, in the city's historic Union Station.

The project will include a fiber monitoring area, job training and a community space.

The Fiber Smart House is the first step in Gary’s concerted, multi-phase effort to create a tech community in Northwest Indiana.

The redevelopment of Gary's long-vacant Union Station will help bridge the digital divide by bringing more high-speed broadband internet access to the Steel City.
