Facebook has told the High Court a post which former Fianna Fail TD Frank O Rourke claimed defamed him last year has been permanently deleted and can’t be located. An internal investigation at Facebook Ireland attempted to locate the post but was unable to do so or who was responsible for it, the court was told on Friday. Facebook says it would have difficulties complying with a High Court order sought by former FF TD Frank O’Rourke requiring it to provide details of an account which he alleges contained posts that defamed him. Last month Mr O'Rourke sought orders revealing the identity of the account holder in separate actions against Twitter International Company and Facebook Ireland Ltd so he can sue the person or persons behind the accounts for defamation.
