And get rid of it? i believe so. jurors heard that and then heard it challenged on cross-examination. and they had to digest the stunning 180 during defense closing arguments putting hernandez at the scene of the crime. he was a 23-year-old kid who witnessed something, a shocking killing, committed by somebody he knew. he really didn t know what to do. seven women and five men spent 36 hours, over more than seven days trying to decide beyond a reasonable doubt what all of that added up to. none have been on a jury for this length of time and all say that once is enough. listening to the stories of what it is like it is not hard to see why. there were a lot of witnesses and there was a lot of evidence presented. is that what made it so difficult or was there also just the emotional toll of dealing with somebody s life? emotional. you have to consider ....

What can you tell us this morning? elizabeth, good morning, i can tell you emotions ran very high inside that courtroom yesterday. all of the family members of the victims crying and holding hands as the decision came down. there was one person that was notably absent from the verdict being read. that was taya kyle the wife of chris kyle. she stormed out of the courtroom during the defense closing arguments, slamming her hand on the door as the defense attorneys hit on once again whether eddie routh s mother should have disclosed her son s previous violent past to the kyle family, which she did not. taya has been here for every single bit of this trial. in fact, she was the very first witness to take the stand. watch her describe the last time she saw her husband alive. i said may maybe make sure this person that chad can be ....

Courthouse in texas now. as you can imagine, emotions running high inside that courtroom last night. all of the family members crying and holding hands as that decision came down but there was one person missing and it was rather surprising. chris kyle s widow. the back story there, well, she jetted out of the courtroom late in the afternoon during the defense closing arguments, slamming her hand on the door. people turned around to look. happened as the defense attorneys hit once again on whether eddie routh s mother should have disclosed her son s previous violent past to the kyle family which she had not. she was the very first witness to take the stand, part of her testimony was regarding the last time she saw her husband alive. i said baby, make sure this guy knows that jack can be trusted 100% so he s comfortable saying whatever he wants to say. oh, yeah. no. i definitely will. ....

The young life was lost. even if in your mind it was justified, you still have the trauma of taking a life. the second thing that i didn t like about his direct examination and his cross was that he seemed a little bit too coached. the idea of using words like imminent. the idea of having this waking nightmare and using that three times. the way he seemed to use words out of the jury instructions. that comes across coached to the jury, then they re going to disbelieve him. and if they disbelieve him, he s convicted. yeah. and my apologies, i flip-flopped the names. jordan davis being the victim in this case and his father in that courtroom facing down on that witness stand, looking right at a man for two-and-a-half hours, testifying so methodically, like it s just a technical case, not the death of a kid. that could be tough for michael dunn. mark o mara, stand by. thank you for that. obviously, you re going to provide an excellent voice as we continue through the day and this case ....

Unfortunately because his assumptions were wrong, trayvon benjamin martin no longer walks on this earth. joining me now is managing editor of the grio.com and an msnbc contributor, joyoid, and msnbc legal analyst lisa bloom. lisa, i want to go to you first. we know the prosecution is going toby g begin its rebuttal. a lot brought up in the defense closing arguments, the crux seeming to rest on the notion that there is too much of a reasonable doubt to convict george zimmerman. where does the prosecution begin as it must in the next few minutes? well, i would begin by starting out with what mark o mara missed in his closing argument. he really didn t respond at all to the big lies that the prosecution has put out there about george zimmerman. yes, he said people have inconsistencies when they tell stories over and over again, and that s true. that would explain some of the minor inconsistencies. but what about the big ones? ....
